Background

I grew up in Austria and live with my family between Graz and Berlin. For nearly twenty years I've been working as a freelance web developer – remotely, project-based, without an agency structure around me.

What keeps me in this work: the combination of craft precision and genuine problem-solving. I write code that works, that can be maintained, and that won't make the next developer despair. That sounds obvious – but it isn't.

Outside of web development I write songs and play guitar and piano. Those who think that has nothing to do with code are mistaken – both rely on structure, precision and finding exactly the right thing in exactly the right place.

How I work

  1. Direct and without detours

When you work with me, you work with me – not with an account manager who passes things on. I read the problems myself, think things through myself and implement things myself.

  2. Honest about effort and feasibility

I tell you what's realistic – even if that means a smaller project is the more sensible starting point. Long-term collaboration only works on an honest basis.

  3. Technically deep, communicatively clear

I can solve complex technical problems and still explain them in a way that someone without a development background understands what's happening and why.

  4. Remote and reliable

I've been working remotely for nearly twenty years – it's not a workaround, it's simply how I work. Availability, reliability and clear communication are not extras, they're the foundation.

What I've worked on

Over nearly twenty years, a wide range of projects have come together – for agencies, designers and businesses across the DACH region and beyond.

  • Accessible WordPress sites for NGOs and non-profit organisations
  • Complex multilingual CMS systems for corporate websites
  • Magazine and publishing platforms with custom post structures
  • Portfolio sites for design studios and creative agencies
  • HTML newsletter systems with CleverReach integration
  • Kirby CMS projects for fast, lean websites
  • Online campaigns and HTML5 banners for international clients

Many of these projects ran through agencies and design studios – I was the technical implementer in the background. That kind of collaboration suits me well: clear tasks, direct contact with the creative lead, clean execution.
